New Year

Well, 2012 is upon us, and it’s time I updated things… kinda. There’s not been much going on lately. I took a much-needed 2 1/2 week vacation over Christmas and visited family and friends in Montana and Washington. The weather here in southeast Alaska has been crappy, no way to get around that. Six inches of rain already this year, and it’s only six days into it… not to mention it’s been very windy as well.

The Facilitated Learning Analysis (FLA) for the helicopter accident we had last year has been posted (see the link), bit doesn’t address the cause of the accident, which is still being investigated.  The FLA is just a kind of beefed-up after action review, and while it was extremely beneficial for those involved, doesn’t really shed new  light on the accident itself. The factual investigation report is expected to be finished in the next month or so, and I’ll share that when I get it.

Other than that, not much going on. Just tackling a few winter projects and trying to stay sane in the stormy darkness. 🙂

‘Til next time…
